Wayne’s Pix N’ Art

Wayne Ruby’s creative journey is shaped by three landscapes that have defined his life: the rugged beauty of Colorado where he grew up, the rolling Palouse hills of Moscow, Idaho where he spent his decades-long career as a respected physician, and the Oregon Coast, where he now devotes himself fully to his art. His work in watercolor, stained glass and fused glass reflects the clarity, precision, and deep observation that marked his medical practice—translated now into color, light, and coastal atmosphere.

Since retiring to Neskowin OR, Wayne has immersed himself in the rhythms of the coast. His recent artwork captures the shifting moods of the Oregon Coast and the liminal texture of muted sunlight through forests or on driftwood strewn beaches. In watercolor, he leans into fluidity and translucence; in fused glass, he builds layered compositions that echo the coastline’s interplay of peacefulness and power.
